What are there black flecks in the luffa?

Luffa gourds have hundreds of seeds. I do my best to remove all the seeds in processing and cleaning them, some of the seeds break apart and lodge themselves in the fibers. It’s harmless and bonus exfoliation!

How are the luffa processed?

They are unbleached. I peel, rinse, soak in a hot water vinegar solution, rinse again, and allow them to dry in the sun or in a dehydrating oven.
